The PFC Ralph T. Basiliere Bridge is an iconic symbol of the city. The bridge crosses the Merrimack River in the center of Haverhill on Route 125. The new bridge design was developed through a robust public participation program with the design team working closely with the city, surrounding community, area stakeholders, residents, and MassDOT.
The concept for the new bridge that is being advanced into the design phase will improve safety for all users. The new bridge will expand bike and pedestrian connections, create new areas to engage with the river, provide overlooks along the bridge, and support continued boating activities on Merrimack River.
